Engine Specs in the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC®
Your next SUV should offer both outstanding utility and powerful performance. Few SUVs out there fit both criteria well, but the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4MATIC® fits the bill. New for 2019, the GLE 400 4MATIC® replaces the GLE 350 as the base model for the GLE lineup. Don’t mourn the loss of the GLE 350, though, because the GLE 400 4MATIC® is looking a lot better under the hood. Check out the engine specs in this SUV below!
The GLE 400 4MATIC® is an upgrade for a number of reasons. The first is that for 2019 it has standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive for great handling and control in any conditions. 4MATIC® was available for 2018 in the GLE 350 as well, but it cost about $2000 more. Under the hood sits a new 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine, good enough for 329 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque (an upgrade from 302 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque from the 3.5L V6 engine in 2018). The towing capacity is 7200 lbs, making the GLE 400 4MATIC® a great choice for bringing along a camper, ATVs, snowmobiles, or whatever else you like to lug around.
Also new for 2019 is a nine-speed automatic transmission, which is an upgrade from the seven-speed automatic in 2018. Following in the footsteps of the GLE 350, it will again offer standard features such as DYNAMIC SELECT®, ECO Start/Stop, selective damping suspension, and an illustrated vehicle display.
You’ll have a variety of additional options to choose from when selecting your new GLE 400 4MATIC®, but these are just the basics that make for an SUV that is far from basic. Interested in learning more? Schedule a test drive here on our website to get started!
